Coffee, lunch, vacation and other

The WeatherPixieGame Giveaway of the Day

Its quiet, and I've got a yen to write. Please check out how the stars are aligned, k? I'm scared! ;p

Coffee...gotta love it. Or not. But to me it will always be a staple in the house. Beans, grinder and coffee pot of some sort. I don't need an electric coffee maker, but gotta have a drip pot of some sort. I'd love to get a French press sometime...in the future. I just made the last of my beans today and I'll be out till Saturday. I'm sad. However, the coffee (8'o Clock usually) is good, and I put apple pie spice in the grounds, and used pralines and cream creamer. Its sweet, and rich...heaven. For any purists out there, I do drink black coffee, and I adore that, too. Rich, preferably Blue Mountain from Jamaica or Kona, but I'm not quite that picky. Just don't serve me Maxwell House. I've tried, and tried to find one that I like, and all of the aspects of it make me gag. Unless I'm in dire need of caffeine! At that point all bets are off. I never was much for iced tea, but I like most hot teas; herbal, black, flavored are all good. I even like teas that most people gag over, i.e. Throat Coat and other bronchial teas. When I was 20, I tried iced coffee for the first time and now that I live in New England pretty much forever its something I crave and will drink year-round (thank you Dunkin' Donuts!!!). When I go home to Michigan, I have issues with the lack of iced coffee. Lack of availability...and lack of flavor when I find it. Right now, I'm a content coffee lover. Now, if I just had some coffee ice cream for after dinner....

Witty is just as interesting in person as she is here, no matter how she disagrees! Quieter, yes, but still an entertaining lunch companion. We hit many topics, shared pictures and I had a great time.

She has great taste in dining choices. Her favorite yuppie grocery has a large, and comprehensive, food-to-go area! You could eat there for months and not get bored. You won't go broke either, which is always a bonus no matter who you are.

If mom and I do decide to go for a mini-vacation in the area again, I will definitely call her. (ok??, hehe)

The vacation, in and of itself was so much fun. There is a lot to do in central New York, and we barely scratched the surface. I won't bore you with minutea, but we went to a living history museum (and would go again!), found an excellent restaurant for our one big night out, had an incredible amount of shopping available, and did some sight-seeing via just driving around. The weather getting there was cause for concern for the rest of the week, but by Wednesday, it got beautiful and stayed that way. We were outside a lot on Thursday between the museum's outdoor exhibit and letting the kids run in the park. It made me realize that I would like to get my fishing license this year, and take the girls. I know, the hell?, but I would like them to know what fun fishing can be. But that's for another entry, heh.

Krazee is still gone. Storm has seen her, and there is no tension on that front. I did call and leave her a message after I found out that she got a place; told her she could come and get her stuff anytime, just stop by. I don't have to interact with her because all but a small box of her stuff is in the shed. I hope she gets it soon...Buck will freak if its there too much longer.

I don't miss her being here at all. Whenever I do get a moment of wanting another human's voice, I stop and think about her and its enough to make me enjoy solitude again!

A question: Anyone ever tried any of the assemble at home jobs? I'm tempted. I'm good at that sort of thing, and would rather not have to go out and find a job. If you have, give me details!! Good, bad and indifferent would be helpful, truly. Either here in the comments or email me at nilliem@yahoo.com.

~~~~~~~
Off to finish the last of my coffee ::sob:: and then find a project to take off my list!
Remind me to never...EVER...say things like,'I don't miss her being here at all.' cuz then SHE FREAKIN' SHOWS UP and is all like, mellow and shit and not overly friendly, but still...damn...not another flippin' word!
