Ends and odds

As I sit here, grooving to 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond'(Pink Floyd for those not in to it)I'm kinda inspired by a motley of things A) Aprons ROCK! Gotta get me more...or get the pattern from mom for the one I'm wearing. Grandma made it, and it lives here, and it wears very well. It the perfect cotton-soft, like your dad's old button-down. It is also the best obnoxious shades of lime, lemon, cherry and turquoise. The print is fruits and vines, and they are all in the various shades. I just need a couple more, so this one lasts. And I need a couple of hooks, just for the aprons! B) Long, jazzy, bluesy, rock songs like the one above seem to be perfect for this. 'Mambo #5'? Not so much, hehe. I wanna dance, not write. C)My neighbor passed away Saturday. He was old, and very ill, and not the man I met 10 years ago. I have to share this, so I don't bawl later... When we drove up to the house, it was my first time, and Buck's second. As we approached, I glanced over at the brown house and saw this dark, wrinkled old man sitting on his porch. Very penetrating eyes. He stared as we pulled in the driveway. All I could think is '...he's creepy...' and then I thought of it no more. Walked into the house, fell in love and here we are. Creepy? Not even a bit. Odd? Yep. Intense eyes up close? Yep...but a lovely pair of eyes. He was a nice guy, he, and his wife were great about nosy kids, and watching the house when we went on vacation and giving us the bounty from their garden. Including the POTENT wine from the grapes. I'm gonna miss you Frank. And now that I'm ready bawl...better here than everywhere else...its time to assemble dinner. Off to...cook, and eat, and maybe drink.
