Weekend whine

The WeatherPixieGame Giveaway of the Day

Weekends are so quiet around here. And usually quietest when I end up having time to read!

Not much going on, its just busy between trying to cover the boss for the last two weeks, getting the girls back to school and soccer, and then adding in the state's tax-holiday weekend. Oy.

I know a lot of people have had to do a job on their own, brand new to the position. But have you ever been almost paralyzed? Well, figuratively speaking, of course. Accounting is not my thing. My boss is so freakin' organized its not funny, but because of the nature of this company, there are quirky things she just knows.  So, I look at the stuff that is 'hers' and I'm freaking out thinking about touching it. I did have some goofs, nothing that can't be fixed, thank you, but still ugly. And then, after I started breathing a bit easier once I realized I have the tools to 'see' my mistakes without having to go through each entry....I find out I missed a wire-transfer of funds! Not that I do them, yet (or maybe ever?!), but I'm so new I didn't know that this particular vendor was of that nature. Pissed me off to no end. I knew we did wire-transfers, to a few vendors. I wasn't responsible for said tranfers, so I didn't know I'd need a list to pull those invoices to hand to the responsible one(I thought I'd be told, since I didn't have a list).  I HATE being new, but what I hate most about it, is not knowing. If I don't know, I can't anticipate...and therefore miss a goof!

So, yeah, the job is easier, but its still so NOT my thing. Can I do it? Yeah. Can I do well? Er...maybe? But it is not intuitive for me. Big question:
Will I do it? For long, I mean. That is yet to be answered. Do I hate job hunting more than I hate this job? My needs are kinda specific, time wise, and money wise. I can't work in fast food - I'd balloon out. Nothing locally, so I have to make a certain amount of dough. Gotta be home by 4 at the latest, but...should be home by 2 or 3. Its all a serious PITA.

The plusses? Flexibility, decent pay, nice co-workers. Good experience.

I don't know. Again, that ticks me off!

Off to...do something. Or not, heh.
