Mother's Day '07
Not much going on, just thought I'd tell about my (per my request, heh) delayed Mother's Day!
Buck hates going to the movies, but I managed to get him, and the girls, to go to see Shrek the Third. And after, dinner out at the excellent restaurant, Southside Grille and Margarita Factory! Ummmm, southwestern food...ummmmm.
It was so nice, Buck met us there for a 4:30p show, and then dinner and he had Saturday off, to boot. He's looking a lot more relaxed today, even with Storm fighting us tooth and nail to clean her room. He asked her to do it at 11 am-ish. She finished around, uh...5pm? Little shit. Every time she actually does it, she comes down and is sooo happy, and proud of herself, but getting her to do it?? A total PITA.
I'm cruising along on my mom's afghan; over half-way done. She requested three shades of blue, in stripes, and its lovely, if I do say so. Well, ok, its lovely shades of blue. The girls picked out a yarn called 'Stars and Stripes' for the middle stripe, knowing Gram is a patriotic freak (no disrespect, she just goes wayyy overboard on the red, white and blue bit)and it is pretty, but its too twee for my tastes. I think she expected me to use the same kind of yarn I used for Cloud's blanket, but finding blues in Bernat's Softee Chunky, is darn difficult. I'm using a Red Heart yarn, and I'll do my darnedest to get it as soft as possible. I'm crocheting, if you are interested. Just a double all the way, but I have a black stripe between the blues. I didn't put it between the lightest blue and the multi, it would not have worked.
Hmmm...I should take a pic...rolls eyes...
Actually, I should have Cloud take a pic of all three afghans I've finished this year. Might make for some ambition later on!
Buck also finished the underlayment for the bathroom today! Now, tiles, then a new toilet...and wall board and paint...and the wainscoting....
Yeah, some year, I'll be done!!!
Ok, off to...do something else!
